About Your Bill

Pitt and Greene EMC has three billing cycles. Your billing cycle is determined by where you live on the system as all billing cycles are arranged geographically.

Cycle 1 shall be mailed on or about the 9th day of the month, Cycle II shall be mailed on or about the 18th day of the month and Cycle III shall be mailed on or about the 27th day of the month. Should you not receive your bill near your normal billing date, please call the co-op office.

Each bill will show the meter reading dates, total kilowatt-hour usage between meter reading dates and demand readings where applicable.

You may pay your electric bills at the Pitt & Greene EMC headquarters in Farmville, NC at 3989 West Wilson Street, or at the Snow Hill, NC office located at 201 North Greene Street, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Payments may be made in person, we have a night depository (after hours and holidays), by mail (check or money order with bottom portion of bill in the return envelope), bank draft and debit/credit card or E-check. Bill payments can also be paid over the phone 24/7 at 252-643-5643 by using our automated IVR system. Payment can be made by visiting the website at www.pgemc.com or by MoneyGram ($1.99) at Walmart or CVS.

The banks charge businesses a processing fee for each debit and credit card transaction. This applies to Pitt and Greene EMC as well. We are charged a processing fee of 2.45% on each transaction. A fee of 2.45% of your total bill will be charged to offset what the bank charges us.

When paying by mail, please check the following to assure accurate handling of your payment.

  • Is your check made payable to Pitt & Greene EMC?
  • Is the date correct? (Postdated checks cannot be accepted.)
  • Do the figures and written amounts agree?
  • Have you written your account number on your check or money order? (Should your check and stub become separated, payment can still be properly credited if we know the account number.)
  • Is your bill stub enclosed with your check or money order?
